Service Area
Tennyson Center for Children’s (TCC) main campus is in Denver. Children are referred to TCC from all over the state. TCC has satellite offices in El Paso and Weld counties.

Mission Statement
To work with children, youth and their families to overcome a variety of life crises, including abuse and neglect.
This is accomplished by:

• Meeting the educational and psychological needs of troubled children in the least restrictive environment.

• Helping the child and family resolve past traumas and assist them in the development of new coping skills so that, whenever possible, the child can return to his/her family or move to a less restrictive environment.

• Working directly with school districts to help meet the needs of their special education students.

Tennyson Center’s programs work in synergy to address the whole child and include:

• Residential Treatment Program, which is an intensive treatment program, designed for children who have been removed from their home setting because their safety was in jeopardy.

• Education / Day Treatment Program which is an accredited special education and therapeutic program for children from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The Day Treatment program serves children who live at home or are in foster care but are not able to function in a public school environment because of significant behavioral and emotional difficulties.

• Community-Based Services are intensive, strengths-based programs to help prevent family disruptions and out-of-home placements by providing children and their families, caregivers, and teachers with individualized support and services in their homes, schools or community-based settings.
