We help families thrive by efficiently procuring and distributing food and essentials to the hungry through our programs and partner agencies.
1 in 7 Colorado neighbors struggle to put food on the table and need continues to remain high, especially among working poor families and those living on fixed incomes.
Last year, we distributed nearly 48 million meals through our programs and partner agencies – food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters- and our direct service programs - Mobile Pantry, Kids Cafe, After School Snacks and Totes of Hope®. That’s almost 60 million pounds of food. But sadly it’s not enough for all our neighbors living in poverty to receive the help they need.
With the support of our partner agencies, generous donors and volunteers, we hope to distribute even more meals in the coming fiscal year and increase the distribution to areas most underserved. Together, we can solve hunger!

September is Hunger Action Month
Each September the community helps raise awareness and funds for us through various events. You can help by advocating on our behalf through social media and helping us spread the word. Wear orange on September 1 and learn about other ways to help all month. Visit our website for upcoming activities.
Your gift of time makes a difference for hungry men, women and children. Last year, volunteers gave more than 136,000 hours, the equivalent of 65 full time employees – we couldn’t do what we do without them!
Food Bank of the Rockies offers opportunities for individuals and all sized groups up to 100 people. Come to our warehouse and help us fill orders, sort food, assemble USDA food boxes, cook meals in our community kitchen and prepare Totes of Hope®. Our mobile pantry program is also staffed by volunteers who help with food distribution to clients. We occasionally have light office duties and opportunities for volunteers to help with special events.
Warehouse Requirements – Volunteers must be 14 years or older to assist in our warehouse. Volunteer shifts are available daily, Monday –Saturday. Please visit foodbankrockies.org/volunteer to learn more and sign up.
Food Bank of the Rockies always needs and greatly appreciates contributions of funds, food and time. We’d also like to show you how we fight hunger at our warehouse and encourage your organization to schedule a tour of our facilities and discuss plans for your giving event with our experienced fundraising team.
Monetary Donations – $1 = 4 meals! 96 cents of every dollar is used for food distribution programs! Monetary donations are always needed and can be made by mail, in person, by phone, text or through our secure website.
Food Donations – Donations of food from retailers, farmers and distributors are welcome and needed. We accept large and small quantities of fresh, frozen or non-perishable goods. Contact our operations department to coordinate your delivery or donation.
Community food drives are often the first thing people think of when they want to help. While we encourage donations of nutritious items you’ve previously purchased and no longer want, instead of shopping on our behalf, please consider donating the money you planned to spend directly to the food bank. Through our distribution and food donor network, we can distribute more than 5 pounds of food with every dollar we receive, including perishable items like fresh produce, eggs, meat and dairy.
Virtual Food Drives – Because 25 cents can turn into a meal, we encourage Virtual Food Drives! These customizable, online donation drives are easy to set-up through our website and a great way to encourage co-workers, friends and family to join your cause in addition to, or instead of a traditional food drive. Virtual Food Drives are perfect for corporations, individuals, groups, special occasions and honoring loved ones. You can download pictures, logos, share your thoughts and easily create your own custom online donation page to help us fight hunger. You can even add donations collected in person, send out reminders and thank your contributors. Learn more on our website.
Sponsorships – Sponsorships and cause marketing opportunities are a great way to gain exposure for your company while helping a worthy cause. Adopt a truck. Purchase joint advertising. Sponsor an event. Host a promotion. We have many options and are always looking for businesses to partner with us. Visit our website to view current opportunities and please contact us to learn more.
